Manga Vault Inc. ("Manga Vault," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Manga Vault mobile app; our websites, which are mangavault.app, our help center at help.mangavault.app, and public profile pages at u.mangavault.app; and our email and text-message programs. Together we call these the "Services."

We use these technologies only as described in Section 4 (Cookies and Similar Technologies). Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you allow them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
When you tap a "Where to Buy" link in the app, we log the tap event so we can measure feature engagement and understand which products and screens are most useful to our users. The information we log includes the volume's ISBN, the originating screen (e.g., "series detail"), your Manga Vault user ID (if you are signed in), your subscription tier (Free or Pro), and the destination retailer. We do not log your IP address, device identifiers, or browsing history. Affiliate click data is retained for 90 days for product analytics, then automatically deleted. See our Terms of Service for details on our affiliate relationships.
If you take part in our friend-referral program (as an inviter or as a new user who redeems an invite code), we process a small set of referral records so we can attribute the referral and deliver the rewards described in our Terms of Service:
Legal bases (GDPR Article 6). For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we process referral data on two legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary to perform the referral program's terms you and the other participant have accepted (attributing the referral and delivering the rewards); and Article 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse of the program (for example, detecting self-referral or multi-account abuse). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us at the address below.
Retention. Referral records are retained for the life of the associated account and are deleted when the account is deleted, per Section 9 (Data Retention and Deletion).
No contact-book access. The referral program works entirely through invite codes and links that you choose to share yourself. We never request, access, or upload your device's contacts or address book — not for referrals, and not for any other feature.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" include pixels, scripts, and your browser's local storage. Our websites use them in four categories:
Preferences, Statistics, and Marketing technologies stay off until you allow them in our cookie banner. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category. To change your choice later, use Cookie settings, which is also in the footer of every page. We keep your choice for 12 months, then ask again.

The full, automatically updated list of every cookie on mangavault.app, with its purpose and duration, is below. Our cookie provider generates it by scanning the site.
Help center. help.mangavault.app has its own cookie banner and "Cookie preferences" link. With your permission it uses Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*). It also uses a necessary cookie to remember your choice and, on the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA (_GRECAPTCHA, up to 6 months) to block spam.
Public profile pages. u.mangavault.app uses only a necessary security cookie from Cloudflare (cf_clearance) and no analytics or advertising cookies.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of marketing cookies and of any "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information on that browser, and we do not turn marketing cookies on unless you choose to. Browsers' older "Do Not Track" signal has no common standard, so we do not respond to it. Our consent banner already keeps tracking off until you allow it.
Controlling cookies in your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working, and the site will ask for your cookie choice again.
Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS):
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never sell or share your app data, collection, email address, or phone number with advertisers. Our website does not use advertising pixels. Some US state privacy laws may treat certain marketing cookies, such as Microsoft Clarity's advertising cookies, as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; these stay off unless you allow Marketing cookies. You can opt out at any time with Cookie settings or a Global Privacy Control signal (see Your Privacy Choices).
We may share data in the following circumstances:
Manga Vault provides privacy settings that let you control what other people can see. Unless stated otherwise, each setting applies both to friends inside the app and to your public profile page if you have turned it on:
You can adjust these settings at any time in the app's Settings menu. Turning off your public profile removes the page; information that was already viewed or copied while it was public cannot be recalled.
If you sign up for Manga Vault text messages, we use your mobile number to send you recurring marketing and informational messages, such as launch news and offers. Messages may be sent by an automated system. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app's Settings menu.
Account deletion is not immediate. When you request it, we schedule your account for permanent deletion and email you the date. For the next 30 days your account is held in a recoverable state so that an accidental or regretted deletion can be undone — you can cancel simply by signing back into the app. We will also email you a reminder shortly before the period ends.
If you do not cancel, your account is permanently deleted on or shortly after that date. Deletion is carried out by a scheduled process, so it may complete a short time after the date shown rather than at that exact moment. Once permanent deletion begins it cannot be cancelled or reversed.
Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Deleting your Manga Vault account does not cancel a subscription — you must cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data. If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, or a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas or Virginia), these rights apply to you.
To exercise any of these rights, use the relevant feature in the app where one exists, or email privacy@mangavault.app. We will respond within one month. If your request is complex we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you within the first month if we need to. We do not charge a fee for these requests.
Because access to your account is itself proof of identity, a request made from within the signed-in app needs no further verification. For requests made by email we may need to verify that you own the account before we act.
Authorized agents. Where the law allows, you may ask someone to make a request for you. We may ask the agent for proof that you authorized them, and may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@mangavault.app with the subject "Appeal". We will answer within 60 days and explain the reasons. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state Attorney General.
Mexico. Your rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation and Opposition (ARCO) can be exercised by email to privacy@mangavault.app. Please include your name, the right you want to exercise, and the data concerned. We will reply within 20 days and, if your request is granted, act on it within 15 days after that.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EEA it is your national supervisory authority.
New Manga Vault accounts are for adults: you must be 18 or older to create one. Accounts opened before October 12, 2026 by users who were 17 at the time remain open. Manga Vault is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that someone under our minimum age has created an account, we may close it and delete its data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@mangavault.app.
We do not send marketing emails or text messages to anyone we know is under 18. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18 or use it for targeted advertising, and we do not use marketing cookies for visitors we know to be under 18.
The only content you can make visible to other people is your profile: display name, username, avatar, cover photo, bio, favourite genre and social links, plus your collection, statistics and achievements if you choose to show them. If you are under 18, you can change or remove any of it yourself at any time in the app (open the Social tab and tap your profile picture at the top), hide it with the privacy settings in Section 7, or delete your whole account in Settings. You can also email privacy@mangavault.app and we will remove it for you. Removing content from Manga Vault does not guarantee that every copy is gone, for example if someone copied it while it was visible.
We use the following third-party services to operate the Services. Each has its own privacy policy governing its use of data, and we share only what each needs to do its job.
When you delete your account we also ask RevenueCat and Klaviyo to delete their records of you, as described in Section 9.
Manga metadata and cover images come from Manga Vault's own curated catalog, not from third-party data providers.
Manga Vault Inc. is based in the United States, and our servers and most of our service providers are located there. When you use the Services from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where the law requires a transfer mechanism for data that we or our providers send from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (including the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Framework) where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. To ask about these safeguards, email privacy@mangavault.app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy here and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
