Manga Vault ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
When you tap a "Where to Buy" link in the app, we log the tap event so we can measure feature engagement and understand which products and screens are most useful to our users. The information we log includes the volume's ISBN, the originating screen (e.g., "series detail"), your Manga Vault user ID (if you are signed in), your subscription tier (Free or Pro), and the destination retailer. We do not log your IP address, device identifiers, or browsing history. Affiliate click data is retained for 90 days for product analytics, then automatically deleted. See our Terms of Service for details on our affiliate relationships.
If you take part in our friend-referral program (as an inviter or as a new user who redeems an invite code), we process a small set of referral records so we can attribute the referral and deliver the rewards described in our Terms of Service:
Legal bases (GDPR Article 6). For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we process referral data on two legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary to perform the referral program's terms you and the other participant have accepted (attributing the referral and delivering the rewards); and Article 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse of the program (for example, detecting self-referral or multi-account abuse). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us at the address below.
Retention. Referral records are retained for the life of the associated account and are deleted when the account is deleted, per Section 6 (Data Retention and Deletion).
No contact-book access. The referral program works entirely through invite codes and links that you choose to share yourself. We never request, access, or upload your device's contacts or address book — not for referrals, and not for any other feature.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:
Manga Vault provides privacy settings that let you control what other people can see. Unless stated otherwise, each setting applies both to friends inside the app and to your public profile page if you have turned it on:
You can adjust these settings at any time in the app's Settings menu. Turning off your public profile removes the page; information that was already viewed or copied while it was public cannot be recalled.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app's Settings menu.
Account deletion is not immediate. When you request it, we schedule your account for permanent deletion and email you the date. For the next 30 days your account is held in a recoverable state so that an accidental or regretted deletion can be undone — you can cancel simply by signing back into the app. We will also email you a reminder shortly before the period ends.
If you do not cancel, your account is permanently deleted on or shortly after that date. Deletion is carried out by a scheduled process, so it may complete a short time after the date shown rather than at that exact moment. Once permanent deletion begins it cannot be cancelled or reversed.
Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Deleting your Manga Vault account does not cancel a subscription — you must cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data. If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area, or a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California), these rights apply to you.
To exercise any of these rights, use the relevant feature in the app where one exists, or email privacy@mangavault.app. We will respond within one month. If your request is complex we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you within the first month if we need to. We do not charge a fee for these requests.
Because access to your account is itself proof of identity, a request made from within the signed-in app needs no further verification. For requests made by email we may need to verify that you own the account before we act.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EEA it is your national supervisory authority.
Manga Vault is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each has its own privacy policy governing its use of data, and we share only what each needs to do its job.
When you delete your account we also ask RevenueCat and Klaviyo to delete their records of you, as described in Section 6.
Manga metadata and cover images come from Manga Vault's own curated catalog, not from third-party data providers.
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
